ONE SMALL STEP FOR A MAN
ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND

These six paintings contain messages encrypted using CODE BACH®.

These messages refer, among other things, to the famous words spoken by Neil Armstrong when he first set foot on the Moon on 21 July 1969: “one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”

MOON, MOON, MOON

These paintings also contain messages encrypted using CODE BACH®.

This time, the messages refer to a poem by singer Jim Morrison, The Celebration of the Lizard (“Moon, Moon, Moon!”), written a few years before his death in Paris in 1971, and, more generally, to his stage performances relating to the Moon.

At first glance, the coloured dots in these psychedelic-looking paintings evoke stars in the boundless poetic sky of the Doors.

These dots, in four colours and four diameters, also provide a graphic representation of the four digits 0, 1, 2 and 3 of the base-four number system, allowing messages to be encrypted within the paintings using CODE BACH®.
