During the transitional period following the closure of a former 2,000 m² showroom and pending the opening of a new gallery-showroom in French-speaking Switzerland, planned for late 2027, FGB GALLERY is presenting, from January 16 to February 27, 2027, a selection of twenty-four paintings by Swiss painter, composer and mathematician Jean-Claude Bossel, under the title “PERLES DE VERRE”.

This pop-up exhibition is being held at FGB GALLERY’s administrative premises in Préverenges.

“PERLES DE VERRE”
AN INTERDISCIPLINARY GAME BETWEEN
PAINTING, MUSIC AND MATHEMATICS

The complete PERLES DE VERRE production comprises 144 paintings created between 2015 and 2017, inspired by Hermann Hesse’s novel The Glass Bead Game (in French Le Jeu des Perles de Verre).

Taking as its starting point an elementary graphic motif closely linked to a musical motif, Jean-Claude Bossel devised his own “glass bead game”, freely exploring different modes of expression at the crossroads of visual art, geometry and, more broadly, mathematics, while also revealing certain distinctive features of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music.

This body of work was presented to the public for the first time, while still incomplete, during the summer of 2016, and was featured in a report by Swiss television.

A SELECTION OF 24 PAINTINGS
IN SIX GROUPS OF FOUR

For this pop-up exhibition, FGB GALLERY presents a selection of twenty-four works currently available for sale, divided into six groups of four paintings.

Some of the remaining works from the complete PERLES DE VERRE production have been sold over the past few years, while others are still available for sale and are currently stored at the artist’s permanent storage facility in Préverenges, to which FGB GALLERY has access.

The storage facility can also be visited on request in connection with your visit to the pop-up exhibition.

The conditions of purchase for these additional paintings from the PERLES DE VERRE production are the same as those specified at the bottom of this page.

PRICes of the paintings
during THE EXHIBITION

As usual during an exhibition, the prices of the paintings presented will not increase for the entire duration of the exhibition and will therefore remain fixed at their January 2027 levels until February 27, 2027.
